As a trained ballet dancer, exercise has always been a huge part of my life. What was missing from my exercise routine, was the calming and spiritual side, that yoga offers.
After discovering the benefits of cultivating a balanced mind, body and spirit, I decided to pursue yoga teacher training to share my learning with others. I wanted a deep dive into the subject, so I opted for a 300-hour course at Yoga Kula, which was an 18-month journey of discovery. Yes, it was tough at times, but I learnt so much about myself, as much as anything else. Who knew there was so much more than fancy yoga poses?
I have decided that my yoga teachings will be put to best use by bringing this practice to vulnerable people, whether they are recovering from trauma, addiction, injury, or age-related issues.
I have experience in bodywork, and teach in a trauma-informed way, so you are safe and respected in my sessions. I offer touch support, and I keep my classes intentionally small to provide a more tailored experience. You will never be neglected in my class.
My offerings
I have practised most styles of yoga, but I have chosen to specialise in styles which I believe bring the most physical and mental benefit to everyone. Yin Yoga is a favourite because it's simply the best form of yoga to release tension in the mind and body. Don't expect to be cuddling up to a bolster and chilling 😀. Yin yoga is a passive practice, but don't be fooled. It can be quite challenging to hold poses for any length of time, but trust me, it is worth it! More on that subject in the "Yin Yoga" section.
